Introducing Billie Monster!

I have a wonderful new and fabulous sponsor, her name is Billie and she has a blog called Billie Monster.

Billie and I first "met" each other around the same time that we both started out blogs. We hit it off right away and I consider her a friend in this blogging universe. She has a pretty amazing blog and loves to create and inspire. Need proof of how awesome she is? Here are a few of my favorite things she has done!

You know all of those travel/souvenir spoons? Well Billie shined them up and removed the state emblems to make adorable little spoons that you can actually use!

You must see this fabulous chair redo. Isn't that fabric so pretty?!

She also makes jewelry. Isn't this bracelet simply charming and elegant?

Billie has and Etsy shop where she sells her beautiful handmade jewelry.

I am loving these earrings and that pop of beautiful blue!

Or this gorgeous turquoise and pearl bracelet.

I am really into gold tones right now, so this copper bracelet is just perfect.

So take a second and go check out all of the amazing jewelry in her Etsy shop.
And then when you're done looking around there, go check out her awesome blog!

Valentine's Day Mirror

This may be the simplest project I've ever done. Let me just say that I have zero Valentine's decor. I've seen so much cute Vday decor that I wanted to have a little. I don't want it to look like Vday threw up in my house but just add a few touches here and there.

I've had this mirror sitting in my craft closet for a long time. It was for another project that I just never got around to. I got it from a dollar store and spray painted it white and distressed the edges. It turned out pretty ugly, that's why I never did anything with it.

So, I painted it a lovely shade of pink for Valentine's Day. I then cut out the word "love" with my Cricut. I used my favorite Songbird font. It's got the most romantic cursive letters.

And I love how it turned out! It's simple and understated.

Do you decorate for Vday?

Ruffled Shirt

After many hard and frustrating hours, I completed my very first shirt. Google has been my bff on figuring out this whole pattern thing. Also, one of my followers told me about a blog who has great videos. If you need any help go visit Couturier Mommy. She has some super helpful videos for beginners.

I used another pattern for this shirt and here's how it turned out!

I am obsessed with ruffles!

I ended up using black thread because I didn't have grey. When I'm ready to start something, I use what I have! Even if it isn't exactly right :)

There are a few things I learned how to do while making this shirt. I learned to darts and ruffles. I'm not really a huge fan of darts because it looks like they are pointing at your boobs but the pattern called for them.

Now, here's what I need to work on. Neck and arm binding! The neck turned out ok but the arms look a little funny. I definitely didn't do them correctly. That's ok because I'll be wearing a jacket with this shirt anyway :)

Another thing I learned is that I need to lengthen the shirt a little. I'm pretty tall at almost 5'9 so the shirt could be a smidgen longer.

And here I am headed to work in my new shirt!

FYI: It's very difficult to take a good picture of yourself in the mirror without looking like a big goon.

P.S. Does anyone have any tips for armhole/neck binding?

Houston we have a...

...DISASTER!

This is my craft room. It looks like a tornado of fabric came through and left me with the mess. Thanks.
When Wyatt's Grammar bought me the sewing machine, it came with this giant green tub full of fabric. I was so tired of not being able to see everything that was in there! I finally buckled down and went through it.

Oh my fabric, what did she have planned for some of this stuff? Dated fabric would be an understatement.

I think this came from Mexico. I'm kidding, it sure looks like it though !

I really don't know what you would do with this shiny pink fabric.

This jacket was in there and was almost finished except one sleeve. If it were a different fabric I would wear it but that plaid just isn't my style! Let me take that back, THAT plaid isn't my style :)

There were also some old patterns. O.L.D. I think they are from the late 80's and 90's.

So, now that I got rid of what I didn't want, I had to figure out a place to put what I did want.

Much Better.

I love all the pretty colors! So many possibilities.

Ahh, organization how I love you. Hopefully this is temporary. While it is organized, it looks just a little cluttered to me. My dream is to one day have a hutch with doors and drawers but I've yet to find one cheap enough for my taste!

And now I can see my floor again. Yes, I have three scrapbook totes and nowhere to put them. That closet to the right is tiny and really needs to be cleaned out so for now they stay out.

So my question to you is, how do YOU organize your fabric?
If you've posted about it, leave the link so I can check it out!

Free For All

I hope that everyone has had a wonderful week! It's been really dreary and nasty here in Louisiana but overall it's been a great week.

I finally got around to labeling all of my post's (why didn't I do this from the beginning?!). So now you can easily search for something you may be looking for over on the right!

Here are a few features from the Free for All party:

This "eat" art couldn't be any more modern, contemporary, and minimal. That's exactly every reason why I LOVE it! Check out Her Beautiful Mess to see how she made it.

This is such an adorable pink and brown wipe case by Crafting and Creativity!

La Maison Reid made this super stylish burlap bag!

This week is supposed to be Scraptastic Saturday but I have made the executive decision that the party is going to be Free for All from now on. I may get a little crazy every now and then and throw in Scraptastic Saturday!

So, link up whatever you've been working on!
(Please no blogs, Etsy shops, or giveaways)

I can't wait to see all of your craftiness!

Oh, and would you do me a favor and push that Picket Fence button over there to vote for me?!
