.... I am far from it!
Here are a few project FAILS. It would be unrealistic if things didn't go a little wrong every now and then.
This blog is about the good, the bad, and even the terribly ugly...
Now at first glance this looks pretty cute. I had a shirt that was a little ill fitting so I decided what the heck, I'll try my first ever refashion and I'll make it into a cardigan!
I don't know if it was the fabric or the way the cardigan fit but it didn't work. See that last picture there? That's what happens. It flops open showing all of my not so perfect stitching. Yes I have tried a belt and no it doesn't help or look any better.
Oh, why hello there school bus! When Me Sew Crazy contacted me about refashioning a pattern this was take number one. Needless to say, it ended up on the cutting room floor.
This was my first time working with knit and it will be awhile till I give it another shot. I did a terrible job editing. This shirt has got WAY to much going on. The lace, the ruffles, the braided straps! Not to mention the yellow school bus feel of the whole shirt. Fashion. fail.
This shirt refashion attempt was attempted after I was flying high on my other fabulous shirt refashion. I picked this baby up at Target for $3 thinking it was the same material as my other shirt. WRONG. It is this stretchy material that stays stretched if you know what I mean.
I wanted a super cut one shoulder shirt with a ruffle all the way around. You see that last picture? That's because no matter how many times I sewed that ruffle, it just kept unraveling. I have no explanation as to why. My guess is the shirt material and absolutely nothing to do with the operator :)
If I find another shirt I will most definitely try this again because I want a one shoulder shirt bad!
So what is your worst project fail?
