Craft Junkie Too: Vacation Feature

Hi everyone ~ my name is Tracy and my blog is Craft Junkie Too.  I am super excited to be a guest feature today for Young & Crafty.  Thanks Hannah for having me over to play while you are away on vacation.  :)

I live in Texas with my wonderful and crafty supportive hubby and am the mom of 2 boys.  I do work full time so I have to find my crafty time whenever I can.  I've been crafting my entire life and did the craft show circuit for many years selling my personalized wood crafts at local craft shows….but called it quits when my 2nd son was born.  I just didn't have the time to travel anymore.
I wanted to try a different craft so I purchased my first Cricut Expression in 2009…..that my friends …. led me to blogging which I have been doing for several years.

I love to personalize and doodle up my projects with my handy dandy black sharpie marker or paint brush.  They are definitely my favorite crafting tools.

Here are a few of my favorite projects to share… more about each project below.

1.  Butterfly Card - I love my Cricut Expression and design projects with it frequently.  This butterfly card is part of a set I created that includes the cards, envelopes and a decorative gift bag to put everything in.  Click here to see the entire project.

2.  Monogrammed Wedding Gift - One of the most special gifts you can give someone is a personalized gift that is made just for them.  Here is a recent project I created as a gift for a friends wedding.  I started with a chalkboard and painted the edges black to blend the whole board together.  I loved the beveled edge the chalkboard provided but you can use whatever type of board you'd like.  Click here to see more about this project.

3.  Personalized Room Sign - The last project is a personalized room sign that I created for a friend to give to her niece.  My friend sent me a picture of her niece's bedroom bedding and room decor -- and asked me if I could "match" it to create a room sign.  The bedding had those adorable birds on it as the "focal" point so….I thumbed through my Cricut cartridge handbooks and found some very similar birds and went to work on this project.  The little girl LOVED it!  Hmm….it was a little challenging but I think I did pretty good.  Personalized gifts are the perfect gift for unique names as well as hard to buy for friends or family.

Thanks again Hannah for letting me guest post for you today.  I've enjoyed my stay and thank you all for reading!  I invite you to visit my blog and join in my weekly linky party that I host every Friday - Tuesday.  It's so fun to share and you never know who'll pay ya a visit.

Have a super day!
