This was one of the first major renovations that we conquered when we moved into our house. It is by far one of my favorites! I’ve done a little editing, to see the original post go HERE.
Way back when I first started this blog (a whole two months ago), I showed you our new kitchen countertops and backsplash. I also told you how I would show you pictures when we finished the windowsill. Well a whole 382409 months later, here it is! Better late than never right? That's what I always say!
Let me just remind you how hideously awful this kitchen was before. Well, not really the whole kitchen, but the countertops. The cabinets were in perfect condition.
Hellooooo Formica! I don't know who thought it would be a cool idea to have a Formica backsplash?!
And so here is after the countertops and backsplash had been installed. That's was going to be the final touch. But then we got to looking and inspecting our handy work. Not a good idea. Of course something wasn't right.
The sides didn't stinkin' match! We had really thick grout on the left and thin grout on the right. It just looked... off. So we decided to build a window frame. I'm actually really glad that they didn't match because now the window looks finished and has a higher quality. In my opinion anyway.
Didn't Wyatt do a fab job?! I love how it turned out!
I really love my little kitchen :)
Looking at this room and knowing that we did most of the work (minus the countertops) ourselves (along with Wyatt’s parents) is an amazing feeling.
Here is a side by side before and after for ya!
My excuse for not cooking much is that this kitchen is just to pretty to mess up :)
