Truvia® Baking Blend

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Truvia® Natural Sweetener for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

The Holidays are qucikly approaching. That means that the pounds are about to quickly start piling on for most of us. Sometimes I dread the Holidays for this very reason! I have zero self-control. But the pounds don't have to pile on! Truvia® Baking Blend is a mixture of  Truvia®  natural sweetner and sugar. Truvia® offers a sugar-like texture and is perfect for baking. A 1.5 pound bag of Truvia® Baking Blends has the equivalent sweetness to 3 pounds of sugar. It offers 75% fewer calories than using sugar alone! I'll shave calories where I can! Escpecially during the Holidays.

Visit the Truvia® website for more tips and information on Truvia® Baking Blend. The website also offers recipes! These chocolate chip cookies only require 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp of Truvia® Baking Blend. There is 60% less sugar than what is in regular chocolate chip cookies. Rev up your chocolate chip cookie while also offering a lower calorie version! I bet that no one will even be able to taste the difference.

Have you ever used a sweetner in your recipes rather than sugar? Be sure to check out the website for many different recipes. There are quite a few for the Holidays. No worrying about the conversions from sugar to sweetner because the conversions are right there in the recipe.

On your next shopping trip, look for Truvia®  sitting on the shelf. It is avaialbe at retail stores. Grab Truvia® rather than sugar to include in all of your upcoming Holiday treats. Save as many calories as you possibly can!

Guest Post: Orange Peel Candle Tutorial

I'm so happy to have Eliza from Eliza K Prints here sharing her orange candle tutorial. If computers could smell, I'm sure it would be heaven!

Create an Orange Peel Candle

An Eliza K Tutorial

Biodegradable and Easy!

Orange candles add a great ambiance to a holiday table and they make a fun holiday project for the whole family to do together!

What you will need:

1 orange

1/3 cup olive or canola oil

matches or lighter

thin bladed knife

Step One

Separate the rind from the orange using a thin bladed knife. The easiest way to do this is to cut the orange in half first. Next, separate the orange from the rind carefully. Make sure not to cut the stem in the middle!

Pour your choice of oil into the orange (we generally use olive) wetting the wick also. The hardest part is getting the stem to catch fire. Don't give up!

Estimate burn time is about one hour. They are short-lived but so pretty!

Check out more cheap and easy tutorials at Eliza K Prints, follow along on Facebook for recent updates and keep an eye on our Pinterest boards to see what inspires us!

I’ve been out of town all week at our state conference for school. It was a blast but now it’s time to get back into the grind. I will be honest with you, the next four weeks around here will probably be pretty slow as I wrap up this semester. Hopefully when it’s over I can craft!

Here are the fab features from last week:

Fold Over Clutch

Fold over clutch

Fold over clutches are super popular right now. I whipped this one up in about 30 minutes. There are tons of tutorials out there on how to make pouches. This is basically the same thing, just make it a little longer for the fold over part.
