Arbor Swing

So I shared with you guys a while back on Twitter and Facebook that Wyatt was building me a swing. By a while back, I mean December. We’re nothing if not efficient :)

We’ve had this arbor in our yard since we moved in. Of course I’ve always dreamed of a swing there. And of course I didn’t want just any old swing. Nooo, I wanted Wyatt to build me my own!

We found these plans over at Ana White. The main reason that I picked this swing is because it’s HUGE! Most of you may not know it, but we are both pretty tall. I’m knocking on 5’9s door and the hubs is knocking on 6’1s. This swing is 6 ft. long. I wanted a swing that I could lay down on, stretch out, and read a good book.

It is literally perfect in every way. I see many naps here in my future :)

I chose a bright red rather than paint it white or stain it. I seriously couldn’t be happier with this bright color!

The original tutorial called for ropes to hang it. We chose to use coated cable so that it would be stronger and hopefully not dry rot.

I found the pillows at Marshall’s for $20. For BOTH, not one. Pillows are freakin’ expensive!

I know where you can find me when the weather is nice :)

Thanks for stopping in!
