This week we get to learn a little more about ME!

My name is Hannah and I blog over at Young and Crafty. My husband Wyatt and I got married on June 6, 2009 and bought our first house about a week before our wedding. We have both enjoyed making our house into our home by doing DIY projects.  I have enjoyed making things and finding things on the cheap at garage sales, Goodwill and Craigslist.  I have no clue what I'm doing but I am enjoying ever minute of it! With the successes of my "projects" also comes failures and I'm OK with that. I hope you'll follow me on my journey of making our house into our own special place to call our own.

On a more personal note, my life is insanely busy right now!  I am currently working as an ABA therapist for children who are developmentally delayed or who have been diagnosed with Autism.  I'm also attending graduate school to get my Specialist in School Psychology degree.  This blog and craft projects are my therapy to stay sane!!

Be sure to visit Young and Crafty to see my 3 favorite projects:

Southwest Airlines Vacations

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Southwest Airlines Vacations for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Are you looking for a little adult time? Vegas is the perfect place to get away! My husband and I went to Vegas for our one year anniversary and had a blast. There is so much to do there even if you are not a big drinker or gambler. There are shows galore, shopping, and we even went to visit the Hoover Dam. It is a little farther away but it was so worth the drive to visit a piece of history. And WOW is that thing massive or what!? I would jump at the chance to go back. We were only there for about 3 full days and I feel like we missed out on some of the things to do.

Right now Southwest Airlines Vacations is promoting one heck of a Las Vegas Vacations deal. You can save up to $100 when you book flight + hotel to Vegas with Southwest Airlines Vacations. Be sure to use the promotion code VEGAS and book between 5/14 and 5/27. So just how much can you save by booking a Southwest Airlines Vacation package? For a package price of $500-$1000 you can save $50, a package price of $1000-$2000 you can save $75, and a package price of $2000+ you can save $100!

Southwest Airlines Vacations offers vacation packages to more than 80 destinations with flight service available from every scheduled Southwest Airlines departure city. Travelers can customize vacation packages to include flight, hotel, car rentals, show tickets, attractions passes, tours, and more. Another huge advantages to Southwest Vacations is that your bags fly totally free! Those stinkin’ baggage fees add up pretty quick. Free bags means a saving of up to $120 roundtrip.

So if you are looking for a little getaway with the girls, the hubby, or couples trip, be sure to check out Southwest Airlines Vacations!

Aruba!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Aruba Tourism Authority for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

During the summer, I want nothing more than to feel my toes in the sand and soak up the rays while lying on a beach. I have always wanted to visit Aruba. The beaches are fringing on turquoise Caribbean waters and include wide shady expanses, quiet retreats, and busy sunbathing and water sports meccas. Beachgoers can relax on their comfortable lounges, lost in their favorite book. For the more active beachgoer, swimming, snorkeling, kite surfing, waterskiing, tubing, parasailing, banana-boating, and all kinds of wet ‘n wild adventures are right there at your fingertips. Sign me up, that ALL sounds fabulous.

There are also Caribbean beaches along the windward coast that are more secluded and in undeveloped areas. This stretch of beaches is home to coves carved out of limestone and inlets formed by waves. Swimming here is not recommended because of the strong undertow but these beaches offer tranquility and privacy. This is a great place to go if you do not plan on getting in the water!

I would love to visit these beautiful beaches and just relax with a good book. Aruba has so much more to offer than just lying on the beach. There are always events going on, shopping to do, and a fun nightlife. There is sure to be an activity that can be enjoyed! Be sure to check out aruba.com to discover more about this beautiful place and learn all about Aruba travel.

Why would you want to visit Aruba? What would you like to do on a vacation like this?

Tree Hut

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Tree Hut for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Unfortunately I was not born with super soft hands or feet. They are what my husband affectionately refers to as “man hands”. When it comes to getting them softer, I need all of the help I can get from products. I’m already a lotion-aholic. I put lotion on like crazy, especially after showering. That’s why I would jump at the chance to try Tree Hut Hand & Foot Care products!

 photo treehutfoot-GoogleSearch_zpsdd84afd4.jpg

Tree Hut Hand & Foot Care products are developed to keep hands a feet feeling smooth and healthy. Certified Organic Shea Butter and Natural oils and extracts makes skin smooth and soft. Exactly what I need! There are several different products available such as foot cream, foot scrub, and hand cream. If I could try any of these out it would most definitely be the hand cream so that I could get my hands softer.

One of the things I like about Tree Hut’s products is that none of them are tested on animals. Also, another huge plus is that they are made in the USA. All of the products also use certified organic shea butter that is skin repairing & moisturizing, anti-aging, promotes elasticity, and are paraben free and no DMDM. Tree Hut foot cream has argan oil, rose hip oil, and is not greasy. The hand cream has aloe vera and peppermint oil. The foot scrub has real sugar and peppermint oil. You can find all of Tree Hut’s products at Wal-mart stores nationwide.

What better way to showcase my soft feet than wearing a cute summer outfit with sandals? I love this effortless look that is perfect to show off my natural beauty this summer.

Sharpie Coffee Cups

Sharpie Coffee Cups

I’ve seen these sharpie coffee cups all over blog land so I’m not sure where the original source is. These are super easy and make a great personalized gift. I whipped these up for my mom for Mother’s Day.

DSC03732

I picked up these coffee cups from the Dollar Tree for $1 a piece. I then grabbed a pink sharpie from Joann Fabrics. This one said it was oil based but I don’t think it really matters. I grabbed pink because I knew it was my mom’s favorite color.

Now just get to drawing. It’s much harder than you think drawing on a coffee cup! I tried to do a frame around her initial on one and then I wrote her name out (Vickie) on the other in different letters.

Once you’ve written just what you want, bake them at 350 for 20 minutes so that the sharpie doesn’t fade when washed.

I think they turned out alright. I would definitely try this again and maybe plan a little more what I’m going to do rather than just wing it. The important thing is that my mom loved them! I didn’t take a picture but I also wrote her a little note on one of them. Now she can think of her favorite daughter while she drinks her morning coffee :)

15 Electrical Spool Ideas

After completing my electrical spool end table, I was a little curious as to what other people have made with electrical spools. You can get electrical spools for free from most electrician companies and maybe even Lowes and Home Depot.

Here is a round up of 15 things you can make out of an old electrical spool. Click the picture to visit the original link.

There are many, many other ideas on Pinterest and the web. However, it was super difficult to locate the original source for them. I definitely have a new appreciation for other bloggers who do round up posts!
