I’ve seen these sharpie coffee cups all over blog land so I’m not sure where the original source is. These are super easy and make a great personalized gift. I whipped these up for my mom for Mother’s Day.
I picked up these coffee cups from the Dollar Tree for $1 a piece. I then grabbed a pink sharpie from Joann Fabrics. This one said it was oil based but I don’t think it really matters. I grabbed pink because I knew it was my mom’s favorite color.
Now just get to drawing. It’s much harder than you think drawing on a coffee cup! I tried to do a frame around her initial on one and then I wrote her name out (Vickie) on the other in different letters.
Once you’ve written just what you want, bake them at 350 for 20 minutes so that the sharpie doesn’t fade when washed.
I think they turned out alright. I would definitely try this again and maybe plan a little more what I’m going to do rather than just wing it. The important thing is that my mom loved them! I didn’t take a picture but I also wrote her a little note on one of them. Now she can think of her favorite daughter while she drinks her morning coffee :)
