Garage Workbench Redo
Brent and I have been looking for some sort of organizational piece for his new garage that could be a home for all his tools. We started looking at Home Depot and online and were blown away by how expensive a modular system is! Luckily we are savvy estate sale shoppers and came across a Coleman workbench for only $65.
As you can see, it looked a little worn but nothing a little elbow grease and spray paint couldn’t fix! However, as soon as we unloaded the workbench Brent decided to spray this black, ugly sealant right on the exposed cork surface with no discussion involved. It sprayed all over the light gray sides and of course looked hideous.
You can see it the above picture I have taped off all the pegboard portion with painters tape and cardboard to save time. You can also see the smeared sealant all over the light gray pieces and the splotchy black bench (what a nightmare!). I used a degreaser to lightly clean the whole piece before spray painting. No sanding…no priming.
Here is Brent with his “brand new to us” Coleman workbench. I looks great in his garage with the new coat of dark gray spray paint and I had a blast organizing all his tools and gadgets.
Stay tuned to see what else I worked on that weekend to make over the master bathroom .
